Tryon Park Hotel – Charlotte, NC

Hi friends!

I have been dying to get this post up and I am so happy that I finally have it ready for you guys. If you are a follower of my Instagram then you know that a couple of months ago Joshua and I had a mini getaway weekend in Charlotte, NC! We stayed the Tryon Park Hotel which is of the Kimpton Hotel brand and everything was TOP KNOTCH! Joshua’s twin brother lives in Charlotte and my brother used to live in Charlotte so we’ve already done a ton of things that Charlotte has to offer. But this was certainly a first for us. For our weekend getaway we wanted to stay at our hotel and not have to go out a lot. That’s my number 1 rave about the Kimpton! We got there on Friday night and didn’t use our car again until we left Sunday morning. It was amazing! Here’s a little recap of our weekend.

Friday

When we arrived Friday night, we checked in and then went to freshen up in our hotel room before dinner. The customer service was amazing from the minute we walked in the door on Friday night and I just knew that this weekend was going to be incredible.

When we checked into our room I was like “Ok! I am staying here all weekend!” The room was beautiful and Josh had to convince me not to stay in the bathroom the whole time. I could have enjoyed the tub all night haha! Here’s a peek at our room!

For dinner, we took a short elevator ride to Angeline’s. Angeline’s is a restaurant at the hotel that offers fine, Italian cuisines. We LOVED it! And what I loved even more was the convenience of it. You don’t find a ton of hotels that offer restaurants so the fact that the Kimpton has a restaurant was great! And they had delicious food so it was a huge plus!

I know that I only have pictures of our drinks & appetizers but seriously everything was so good. Joshua and I will be definitely be coming back!

Saturday

We slept in a little bit on Saturday, grabbed some coffee, and then hit the gym! We thought about running some outside but it was starting to get really cold, so we decided to check out the gym. I always feel like hotel gyms are hit or miss but this gym was loaded. And the view of the city while you work out was even better!

Check out our view from our hotel room when we woke up on Saturday!

I spent the rest of Saturday working behind the scenes on a wedding that was taking place the Kimpton! Yes, they can accommodate weddings. One of the biggest reasons why I wanted to check out this hotel in the first place. I love finding out about new wedding venues all around South Carolina and North Carolina and I loved hearing all about what Kimpton had to offer. If you book the hotel for your wedding venue, you also have the option to book their Presidential Suite at a discounted rate. This is perfect for a getting ready location for the bridal party and makes it super convenient to have everything all at one place. I mean, take a look at this place – who wouldn’t want to get ready here?!?!

There is so much room and SO MUCH natural light! So your photographer can thank me later 🙂 We did hair and makeup here for the day and then headed down to the ballroom to finish setting up for the reception. The wedding ceremony was off site at a local church and the wedding reception took place at the Kimpton’s ballroom. They offer a great space for the reception because you are able to have your cocktail hour in a separate ballroom and then your dinner reception in a ballroom across the hall. It makes it convenient but also versatile.

After we were finished working for the night, we went up to Merchant & Trade which is the Kimpton’s rooftop bar restaurant! Just visiting Merchant & Trade would have made our entire trip worthwhile. It was absolutely beautiful and Joshua and I were even able to catch the sunset. We enjoyed a couple of drinks and then ended up meeting some friends for dinner inside. We could have stayed here all night – we loved it that much!

Another cool thing about the Kimpton is that they even do weddings up on the rooftop! The whole atmosphere and experience of Merchant and Trade was amazing!

Sunday

I woke up Sunday morning feeling so sad that our weekend had almost come to an end, but secretly feeling very excited about ordering breakfast in bed. Breakfast in bed did not disappoint – it was so delicious and made our early morning not so bad after all!

Overall, our stay at the Tryon Park Hotel in Charlotte, NC was nothing short of amazing. We enjoyed every single aspect of our stay and will definitely be coming back. I would highly recommend this place to all of my future couples that are looking for a nice, wedding venue in Uptown Charlotte, NC. It has all of the amenities you could ever want or need! And you have the luxury and convenience of not having to go anywhere else because everything is already there! So convenient and a bridal party dream!

If you are ever in Charlotte, NC you have GOT to check the Kimpton out! I give them 2 thumbs up and 5 stars! We can’t wait to be back!
