Our Kitchen Remodel Series: Atlas Homewares + Riad Tile

I am so excited to reveal more of our Kitchen! On todays post we are talking all things backsplash and hardware!

When I was creating the mood board for our kitchen I knew that I wanted to have gold hardware. I wanted the hardware to stand out and be different. I found these GORGEOUS champagne colored knobs that I decided to use on all of the cabinet doors. I debated on doing different hardware on the island but I am so glad I chose to do the same hardware on everything! The knobs make such a statement on both the white cabinets and the black! Take a look!

Now, for the details! I got our hardware from Atlas Homewares! They have a TON of different options when it comes to hardware. They have cabinet, appliance, and bath hardware! They also have house numbers and more. And the options are endless. I had some difficulty deciding exactly what I wanted and their customer service team was AMAZING! They answered all of the crazy questions I had and helped me ultimately decide upon the Fulcrum Knob 1 1/2 in Champagne and I am so glad we went with that option. It turned out BEAUTIFUL!

Now for the TILE! When I first was designing our mood board for the kitchen, I wasn’t totally sure what I wanted to do for the tile. If you notice in our mood board – I had thought about doing something different (emerald green or blush pink) but ultimately decided not to. I was too worried that my style was going to change and that a couple of years down the road I would want to change it. So I thought about doing white or black. After talking with Joshua, we both decided the white would be TOO much white so we decided upon black tile. We wanted to go with black because we thought it would be a good accent to our black island, black sink, and black faucet. I am so glad we went with that option! LOOK!!

We got our tile from Riad Tile! Riad Tile has handmade cement tile that is absolutely gorgeous! The options they have is CRAZY! We went with the Black 4×4 Zellige Tile. Zellige Tile is a new trend that is coming around and I thought it would be perfect for our kitchen. I wanted something different and something I had never seen before. A huge disclaimer with this tile: “Natural variation is a characteristic of handmade tiles. Variation in color, size and irregular edges are to be expected.” So I was expecting all of the tile to look different – to have cracks, uneven edges, etc. But you guys this tile is even more beautiful in person! We decided to go with a white grout because we wanted it to stand out. I was nervous if we did a black grout to match the tile that it would be TOO much! I am glad we went with the white grout. To me, it makes the perfect statement!

Here’s a look at the process of the tile being installed!

And look at the detail of that tile! I LOVEEEEEE

I just love the way the tile looks when I am looking at the kitchen from my couch. It makes such a statement. I would highly recommend Riad Tile! So, if you are looking for tile for your next renovation project, check them out!
